- Tony's Pizza (DONE! I'm ashamed to admit that I go here at least once a week. I'm a sucker for delicious crush and greasy pockets of pepperoni!)
- Washington Square Park (DONE! This grassy escape has provided me with a comfy and entertaining place to take so many afternoon naps and play hours of ladder golf. Not to mention it was the meeting spot for the post epic pre-Bay to Breakers celebration I've ever seen.)
- Mama's (DONE! The most adorable breakfast place, if you don't mind waiting 3 hours for breakfast)
- 15 Romolo (DONE! This is our favorite go-to happy hour spot. I feel so hipster whenever I go there, and they just so happen to make the best greyhound I've ever tasted)
- Park Tavern (DONE. We had our last big anniversary dinner here, and it was definitely one to remember. The interior is decorated so cool and is such a lovely place to spend a special evening.)
- Musee Mecanique (DONE, but I want to go again :) It's such a fun, old school penny arcade with the BEST photobooth I've ever experienced. A total tourist trap but one of my favorite places in the city
- ACRE/SF
- Public Barber Salon. (I'm a sucker for bookshelves. I melted when I saw this interior!)
- Aria Antiques
- Little Vine
- Molinari Delicatessen
- The Filbert Steps (DONE. I run these suckers every day! or I did once....)
- Al's Attire
- Naked Lunch
- City Lights Bookseller and Publishers (One of the number one attractions in the city and it's only a couple of blocks from my house..I can't believe I haven't spent hours in here already. I must be a hermit)
- Schein & Schien (Jack is a old map fiend, so this place is a definitely must to visit on our next local date night)
- The House
- Cafe Zoetrope
- Park & Pond (Jack has bought my last 3 birthday/anniversary cards there and I've loved every one. They are just so creative and cute!)
- Specs
- Cafe Trieste
- Mario's Bohemian Cigar Store Cafe (DONE! When two of my friends and I were unemployed and newly living in the city we spent an entire afternoon at Mario's people watching and eating eggplant sandwiches. Those were the days...)
- The Chubby Noodle (This is the sistafran of out favorite dinner spot, Don Pistos, so I'm very surprised I have not tried this so far!)
- Comstock Saloon
- Vesuvio (This place is covered in beautiful murals and always looks so enticing.)
- Don Pistos (DONE. I don't know if I've raved about this place enough, but we are SERIOUSLY obsessed. Jack and I went three times in one week. Obsessed. There chips and quac and margarita combo might be the best food combination in the whole ENTIRE world. I'm not exaggerating. Not one bit.)
- AB Fits
- Capo's
- Txoko
- Bimbo's 365 (DONE. We saw The English Beat here and it was a night to remember. Nothing like being the youngest person at a concert by a good 30 years.)
summer checklist: 30 things to do in north beach
Monday, June 25, 2012
I've been living in North Beach for almost a year and a half, but when I saw today's Refinery 29 slideshow of 29 things to do North Beach I realized I have been living under a rock and haven't appreciated my wonderful neighborhood. Since I will be leaving this part of the city very soon (we're moving in August!), I'm setting a personal summer goal to visit ALL of these places before I leave (and I've added a couple more that's been on my list.) I mean come on, how adorable does Little Vine look! I don't know how I haven't been there yet- it's a crying shame I tell you!! So here's my checklist:

Sounds like a great list! And I adore your banner by the by :)
ReplyDeletethank you!!! I've changed it about 78 million times but I think I'm finally satisfied with this one :)
DeleteVery epic list! Its very cute. :) I make lists too of things to accomplish and places I want to go to. It was exciting to see yours!
ReplyDeletewhy thank you! Sometimes you need that list to motivate you to get stuff done. Plus crossing things off lists is one of my all time favorite things :)
DeleteSo many great places! I love the Musee Mecanique. I've only been once but it was such a fun way to spend the afternoon. Where are you moving to in August?
ReplyDeleteJust moving to another apartment- finally moving in with the boyfriend :) We're looking for a new neighborhood reside in, any good ideas?!?
DeletePotrero Hill!! It's my 'hood so I'm a bit biased but I love it here. It has a nice little "downtown" area with restaurants, coffee shops, bakeries and an independent bookstore but it's also quiet and neighborhood-y. I mean, my upstairs neighbors brew beer in our garage and open up the door on sunny days to hang out with neighborhood friends. What more could you ask for? :)
DeleteSold. That sounds like a dream come true. Thanks!!!
